Della Mae Hockett


Della Mae Hockett, 88, of Waveland, passed away, Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Ben Hur Nursing Home. She was born on May 17, 1930 in Waveland to the late Guy and Anna (Burnam) Tolliver however, she was mainly raised by her grandparents Tom and Laura Burnam. On July 15, 1950 she married Richard Hockett. Richard passed away September 8, 2011.

Della was a 1948 Waveland High School graduate. She worked for Montgomery Ward Catalog Department, Waveland Telephone Company, and the F&F Mart in Waveland for twenty years.

She is survived by her four children; Gary (Donna) Hockett, Waveland, Dean Hockett, Judy (Jim) Thomas, Crawfordsville, Curt (Debbie) Hockett, Jonesboro, Arkansas, nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by; her parents, husband, two brothers, Richard and Burnam Tolliver, one sister Mary Lee Tolliver, and one grandchild, Aaron Curtis Hockett, daughter-in-law, Shirley Hockett.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 11, 2018 At Machledt & Servies Funeral Home, 301 East Green Street, Waveland, Indiana 47989 with Pastor Rodney Coffman officiating. Burial will follow at Indian Creek Hill Cemetery. Visitation will take place 4:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, July 10th at the funeral home.
